INTRODUCTION TO FACULTY OF TAXATION-CUSTOMS
The Faculty of Taxation - Customs was established under Decision No. 1626/QD-DHTCM dated October 13, 2010, by the Rector of the University of Finance and Marketing. It is one of the few faculties specializing in training human resources for Tax, Customs, and Public Finance sectors in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region, to improve the quality of training and expand the fields of consulting, services, etc. Currently, the Faculty offers majors in the Finance and Banking industry in the following areas: Tax, Customs (Import and Export), and Public Finance.
TAX MAJOR
Knowledge
Training bachelor majoring in Tax with knowledge of finance, stock market, principles of insurance practice, banking currency, and financial markets, helping students understand in-depth knowledge of Tax such as management, policy analysis, tax reporting, state financial management, financial analysis, financial statement audit, etc.
Skill
Students are equipped with skills to synthesize and evaluate information and data and skills to apply technology applications to solve problems in the field of tax, and tax management operations from concrete to abstract, phenomenon, arising at different angles and scales in different regions and regions.
After graduation
Students can work in many different units in public or private enterprises and units, specifically, experts at Provincial Tax Departments, centrally run cities, and district tax branches, private businesses such as analysis, planning, consulting, tax declaration, and finalization in many different types of businesses: production and business companies, tax consulting and analysis companies, independent auditing companies, tax agency companies, or working as your tax agent, etc.
CUSTOMS - IMPORT AND EXPORT MAJOR
Knowledge
Customs and Import-Export bachelor's degree program focuses on developing strategic thinking and decision-making abilities in these fields. Training bachelor's degree program specializing in Customs and import-export to develop strategic thinking and the ability to make informed decisions in the fields of customs and import-export, with professional expertise in goods origin, customs law, freight forwarding, and transportation operations, supply chain management, intellectual property rights protection, international economic relations, etc.
Skill
Students gain skills and knowledge in customs, import, and export, including synthesizing and evaluating information and using technology to solve clearance-related issues.
After graduation
Students can work professionally at units of the General Department of Customs, local Customs Departments, Customs Branches, border gates, seaports, etc., or private units and businesses such as Import-export departments of production and business companies, customs brokerage companies, Forwarder companies, Logistics companies, shipping lines, and shipping line agents, etc.
PUBLIC FINANCE MAJOR
Knowledge
Equipping students with comprehensive knowledge of public finance, including budget management, investment appraisal, and financial management of public entities.
Skill
Students are equipped with skills in cost-benefit analysis, quantitative financial analysis methods, financial report analysis in public units, and professional skills in accounting and finance, insurance, stock market, appraisal for application in the field of public financial management.
After graduation:
After graduating, students can work in many different units in the public sector. Specifically, state management agencies from central to local levels include:
- State management agencies in the Finance sector: Department of Finance at provincial and city levels and financial planning departments at district and district levels; Tax Department and district tax branch; Customs Department and customs branches at border gates, seaports; State treasury system in provinces, cities, and districts.
- State management agencies in other fields: Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Health, Department of Education and Training, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, etc.
- Public service units like schools, hospitals, public project management agencies, and public-private partnership (PPP) projects use state budget capital. Can participate in teaching and research at universities and colleges in the field of public finance or can study at higher levels such as master's degree or doctorate.

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES OF TAXATION - CUSTOMS FACULTY
Advise and assist the Rector in developing training majors at the Faculty. Develop training programs for the University-assigned majors and coordinate with functional units to organize postgraduate training in the Faculty's majors.
Research training needs in society to develop plans to develop majors, training programs, and facilities towards standardization, enhance quality assurance conditions, and meet social and societal needs.
Develop plans and organize the implementation of scientific and technological activities of the Faculty, professional activities, and specialized scientific conferences. Guide students to participate in scientific research and join the University's science clubs.
Organize and compile detailed outlines of related subjects, compile lecture outlines, textbooks, and other documents according to the school's development orientation, gradually perfecting goals, programs, and textbooks, lessons.
Organize research to improve teaching and learning methods to improve the quality of education, and develop and implement methods of testing and evaluating students' learning and training results to ensure student output standards. Study according to published commitments, meeting the labor demand of the market.
Supervise faculty and staff as directed by the Principal, develop teaching staff, oversee student training programs, organize academic advising, propose student policies, and manage student rewards and discipline.
Manage, operate, and coordinate activities of affiliated departments, delimit the scope of expertise and teaching content of affiliated departments.
Participate in enrollment activities and enrollment consulting according to regulations of the Ministry of Education.
Implement self-assessment reports in educational quality accreditation at the educational establishment level and training program level.
Organize the implementation of democratic regulations and maintain labor discipline in the unit according to the University's regulations.
